Becoming Curious and Releasing Fear

Curiosity is one of the biggest bridges into building new paradigms within your life. It can certainly be used when you're interested in something. It can also be used for things that can be uncomfortable. Growing up I had a fear of homeless people. I felt sad for them in my heart. I would speak up for them. But if I pulled up to a red light with a person asking for money I would freeze and I would be scared.
In 2013, I had a moment one night when I left work that encouraged me to change. I'd always been afraid of the dark and I was working hard with Archangel Michael on surrounding me in white and blue light and protecting me when I was afraid. That night I walked to my car and finally felt safe. When I got to my car, I heard a rustling in the bushes near me. The old me would have jumped in my car as fast as I could, locked the doors, and sped away. The new me decided to have some faith in the angels. I took a deep breath and I turned around. It was an old homeless woman who was trying to jump in the bushes to hide from me. I must have scared her when I closed the door behind me at the restaurant at which I worked. That moment broke my heart wide open. I was able to trust in the angels and my intuition.
I was also humbled to realize I had so much less to fear than homeless people. So in order to alchemize my fear, I decided to work with the homeless population. I worked at Colorado Coalition for the Homeless as a Housing Counselor and as a Case Manager. I got to learn so much about the human experience and myself. I came to find that most humans just want to be seen and heard. To have a witness and someone empathize with their experience.
The gift that I could never see coming, was I began to start seeing past lives. As clients sat across from me in my office, telling me their life stories, I began to have flashbacks of what happened in their past lives also. Without facing that fear, I never would have been able to access that gift. Now, I get to read past lives daily for my clients through Sea Goddess Healing Arts. Something beyond my wildest dreams! Be curious and brave. You never know how the universe and your higher self will reward you!

Jupiter in Gemini

Gemini season began on Monday, May 20th. The qualities of Gemini include communication, ideas, curiosity, intellectual exchange and mental agility. There is a buzz and jest about Gemini energy. It is a Masculine or Yang Air sign, its modality is Mutable, its symbol is The Twins and it is ruled by the planet Mercury. Gemini rules over the lungs, the shoulders and the arms/hands. It relates to the acquiring and assimilation of information. Gemini energy buzzes with excitement about new ideas, new knowledge, language and communicating with others. Extreme Gemini energy can be restless, nervous, scattered and unfocused. The Mutable modality transmutes energy, and is very adept and can easily adapt to change. Going with the flow is a skill.
The planet of expansion and benevolence, Jupiter, also changed signs last week on Saturday, May 25th for the first time since May of last year! Jupiter spends roughly one year in each zodiac sign and will remain in Gemini until early June of 2025. A new area of our lives will receive a boost and a breath of fresh air.
Remember, as with everything in this Earth school, there is a light and a shadow. Jupiter is known as one of the “benefic” planets, usually bringing positivity and charismatic energy, however it’s important to be aware of the shadow as well, especially since Jupiter expresses a bit differently in the sign of Gemini. Jupiter is the boss of Sagittarius and Pisces. Gemini is opposite Sagittarius on the wheel of the zodiac, so when in Gemini, Jupiter is out of its comfort zone, obeying Mercury’s rules rather than its own. The shadow side of Jupiter is simply TOO MUCH. Too much of anything is still too much, even if it’s something that’s good for us, so think of big energy that overshadows everything, and then add the layers of Gemini qualities to the equation. Too much information, too many ideas buzzing, anxiety, flightiness, overt nervousness, big misinformation and frankly, bullshit.
Now’s a good time to develop your sense of discernment around information. Stay curious and open to new ideas and perspectives, but beware of falsities, attempts to deceive and pay attention to how what you’re receiving feels in your body. Remember to return to the present moment and take several BIG breaths if anything is feeling overwhelming or like way too much.
When an outer, slower moving planet changes signs, it’s also a perfect time for reflection. The last time Jupiter graced the sign of Gemini was 12 years ago in 2012.(June 2012 - June 2013). Remember how 2012 was the end of the Mayan calendar? Think back to what was happening in your life back then, and what was representative of the light side of Jupiter/Jupiter in Gemini and the contrary. How can you work on staying in the light, higher vibration of the energy if any of the themes repeat this time around? Remember, it’s always good to let your curiosity be your guide!
